The ongoing Iran war entered its eighth day as Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced that Tehran will not launch further attacks on neighboring countries, signaling a potential shift in regional strategy.

In an official statement, Pezeshkian said Iran will only respond if an attack is launched against Iranian territory from the soil of neighboring states. The decision was approved by Iran’s Interim Leadership Council, which adopted a new defensive policy regarding regional operations.

Iran Rejects Surrender to US and Israel

Despite announcing restraint toward regional states, Pezeshkian strongly reiterated that Iran will not surrender to the United States or Israel.

He said that enemies hoping for the Iranian people to surrender would “take that wish to their graves,” emphasizing Iran’s commitment to defending its sovereignty and national dignity.

Iran Calls for Mediation to End the Conflict

Earlier, President Pezeshkian stated that efforts to mediate and end the conflict should come from countries responsible for initiating the confrontation.

In a statement posted on X, he revealed that several countries have already started diplomatic mediation efforts aimed at restoring peace in the region.

The Iranian president added that Iran is serious about peace in the Middle East, but will not hesitate to defend its independence and territorial integrity.

Background: Retaliatory Attacks on Gulf States

The announcement comes after joint military strikes by the United States and Israel on Iran, which triggered retaliatory actions from Tehran.

In response, Iranian forces reportedly targeted US military bases and oil installations located in several Gulf countries, including **United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, and Kuwait.

Security analysts say the new Iranian policy could help reduce regional escalation, although tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel remain extremely high.
