The 41-year-old footballer had been living in Riyadh with his partner Georgina Rodriguez and their five children. His departure comes amid heightened conflict after Tehran launched missiles at U.S. bases in response to U.S.-Israeli strikes, which reportedly killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Spain, where Ronaldo’s jet landed, is one of the few European countries that openly condemned the U.S.-Israeli military actions and Iran’s response.
Ronaldo currently plays for Saudi club Al-Nassr, and his contract with the team runs until 2027.
