(Web Desk): Iranian security chief Ali Larijani’s assassination has triggered global reaction as Russia condemned the murder of Iranian leaders in US-Israeli airstrikes.

Russia has strongly reacted to the killing of Iran’s senior leadership. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, “We unequivocally condemn any actions aimed at harming the health of, or indeed murdering or eliminating, members of the leadership of sovereign and independent Iran, as well as those of other countries. We condemn such actions.”

The statement came shortly after Iran confirmed that its top security figure Ali Larijani was killed in a targeted strike in Tehran. The attack has sharply increased tensions in the region.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council confirmed the assassination, backing earlier Israeli claims that Larijani had been “eliminated” in a precision strike. Iranian media, including Mehr News Agency, described his death as martyrdom and praised his services to the country.

Initially, Iranian authorities had not confirmed the reports shared by Israeli officials, including Defence Minister Israel Katz. However, later confirmations revealed that Larijani’s son, Morteza Larijani, was also killed.

The situation worsened as Israel claimed responsibility for more attacks, including the killing of Iran’s Intelligence Minister Esmaeil Khatib in another airstrike. Israeli leaders warned that more actions could follow across different regions.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and military leadership have reportedly allowed forces to target senior Iranian figures without needing further approval, raising fears of wider conflict.

Meanwhile, the United States carried out strikes on Iranian missile sites near the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil route. Reports say heavy bombs were used to hit fortified positions.

In response, Iran has seen mass gatherings and protests, with people expressing anger and calling for resistance. Authorities have described the attacks as aggression by global powers.

This situation is becoming very dangerous. More attacks can happen. Big countries are getting involved. This may lead to a larger war if tensions keep rising.
