Trump says Israel-Hamas ceasefire could happen soon

(Web Desk): US President Donald Trump has said that a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas could be reached soon.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Donald Trump said that the United States is close to an agreement on the Iranian nuclear program.

The US President, while announcing a 50% tariff on imported steel, said that he would discuss trade and tariffs with Chinese President Xi Jinping. He hoped that the US-China differences on trade and tariffs would be resolved.

He also said that he wants to win the court battle on the tariff issue, that he is not currently expelling foreign students from the United States, and that despite the fight with Harvard University, he wants foreign students to study here.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian resistance organization Hamas said that the plan proposed by the United States for a Gaza ceasefire and the release of hostages does not meet its basic demands, including an end to the war, and therefore will reject it.

On the other hand, Israel has warned Hamas in strong terms to accept the deal offered for the release of hostages in Gaza, or it will be wiped off the face of the earth.
