
Geolocated images showed tanks moving into Beach Camp in western Gaza and also operating south of the Islamic University. This marks a deep push into the city since Israel’s ground assault began on Sunday.
The Israeli military had ordered over a million people to leave Gaza City earlier this month. Officials now claim that 640,000 have fled, though the exact figure remains unverified. Still, hundreds of thousands remain trapped inside.
Israeli units are using remote-controlled armored vehicles filled with explosives to demolish buildings. The IDF insists Hamas turns such buildings into ambush sites, weapon depots, and command centers.
During Monday’s clashes, IDF officer Maj. Shahar Netanel Bozaglo, aged 27, was killed when Hamas fighters hit his tank with an RPG. Drones and helicopters continued to dominate the skies above the city.
The humanitarian toll is worsening. Two hospitals – Al-Rantisi Children’s Hospital and the Specialized Eye Hospital – were forced to shut down and evacuate patients. Doctors at Al-Shifa hospital said they lacked even basic supplies to clean wounds, leaving children and infants in unbearable pain.
Medical groups confirmed that Al-Quds hospital had sustained damage and a healthcare center run by the Palestinian Medical Relief Society was destroyed. International voices, including European governments, Canada, and Australia, condemned the IDF’s assault for worsening the crisis.
Inside Israel, families of remaining hostages warned that the operation put their loved ones in greater danger. About 20 hostages are believed to still be alive. Meanwhile, residents of Gaza like Abu Wissam, who lost his home and his son, are left hopeless, saying they cannot even afford to evacuate.
