Several countries have officially announced their Eid dates based on local moon sighting reports. Due to differences in lunar visibility, some nations will celebrate Eid on Friday, March 20, 2026, while others will observe it on Saturday, March 21, 2026.
Countries including Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, and Turkey have announced that Eid ul Fitr will be observed on Friday, March 20, 2026. In these countries, the Shawwal moon was not sighted, resulting in the completion of 30 days of Ramadan.

Other countries celebrating Eid on Friday include Maldives, Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen, and Iraq. Several African nations such as Sudan, Nigeria, Senegal, and Cameroon have also confirmed Eid on the same day.
Meanwhile, Eid was observed earlier on Thursday, March 19, 2026, in countries like Afghanistan, Niger, and Mali following confirmed sightings of the Shawwal moon. Additionally, the Bohra community in Pakistan is also celebrating Eid today.
In Singapore, Eid ul Fitr has been scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2026, based on astronomical and local moon sighting considerations.
Several countries, including Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Iran, Oman, and Egypt, are still awaiting official moon sighting confirmations. Their respective Ruet-e-Hilal committees and religious authorities will announce the final Eid dates after verifying credible testimonies of the Shawwal crescent.
