PM Modi extends greetings on Eid Milad-un-Nabi

NEW DELHI (Web Desk): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended his warm wishes to Muslims across the country and the world on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him), which marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the Last and Final Messenger of Islam.

In his message shared on the social media platform “X”, the Indian prime minister highlighted the values of peace, compassion and justice associated with the sacred day.

 “May this sacred day bring with it peace and well-being in our society. May the values of compassion, service and justice always guide us. Eid Mubarak!” PM Modi wrote.

Eid Milad-un-Nabi, also known as Mawlid al-Nabi, is observed in many parts of the world with religious gatherings, recitation of Durood o Salam, distribution of food and charity, and remembrance of the Prophet’s teachings of mercy and humanity. In India, the day is commemorated with prayers, processions, community services and spiritual gatherings, reflecting the message of unity and brotherhood.

Religious scholars underline that the Prophet’s life serves as a timeless example of kindness, patience and justice. They stress that his teachings are not confined to any one community, but carry universal values relevant to all of humanity.

With Prime Minister Modi’s greetings, the occasion once again highlighted the significance of peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among diverse communities in India, a country where people of different faiths mark festivals together.
