India’s MiG-29 fighter jet crashes in Rajasthan

MUMBAI: (Web Desk) A MiG-29 aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF) has crashed in the Barmer sector of Rajasthan state.
The IAF MiG-29 fighter jet crashed during a routine night training mission in Rajasthan, Indian police said.
The accident took place in Barmer, Rajasthan, where the pilot ejected safely.

The IAF says the jet suffered a "technical fault".
"During a routine night training mission in the Barmer sector, one of the MiG-29s suffered a critical technical malfunction, forcing the pilot to eject," the IAF added.
“The pilot is safe and no loss of life or property is reported. A court of inquiry has been ordered,” it stated.
Local authorities said the fighter jet crashed near a residential area around 10 pm.
