U.S. President Donald Trump announced that reaching a potential deal with Iran is a priority after a key meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, while cautioning that failure could lead to serious consequences.
According to Trump, several of Netanyahu’s aides were present during the discussions, which he described as conducted in a “very positive environment.” The focus of the meeting was Iran’s nuclear program and regional security, including the ongoing situation in Gaza.
Trump emphasized that diplomatic talks with Iran remain ongoing, with efforts aimed at assessing whether a deal is possible. “If the deal does not happen, we will see what the outcome of the negotiations will be,” he said. Referring to past incidents, Trump recalled that Iran’s previous refusal to finalize a deal led to the “Midnight Hammer” bombings, which had serious consequences for the country.
The president expressed hope that Iran’s approach would now be more responsible and reasonable. He stressed that while the United States prefers a diplomatic path, it will protect its national interests under all circumstances.

In addition to regional diplomacy, Trump addressed U.S. domestic issues during the press briefing. He claimed that America’s borders are now “100 percent secure” for the first time in history and reiterated his opposition to wind energy, restating his stance on national energy policy.
Trump underscored that while discussions with Iran will continue, the ultimate outcome depends entirely on Tehran’s conduct. He also affirmed the strong and enduring U.S.-Israel relationship but noted that no final decisions were made during the meeting.
