(Web Desk): Donald Trump says US forces hit Iranian military targets on Kharg Island and warns Tehran against disrupting shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

US President Donald Trump claimed that American forces carried out a major strike on Iranian military targets, saying the operation dealt a severe blow to Iran’s capabilities.

In a statement, Trump said the strike targeted military installations on Kharg Island, adding that all military objectives on the island were destroyed during the operation.

However, he clarified that oil facilities on the island were not targeted. Kharg Island is known as one of Iran’s key oil export hubs, and damage to its energy infrastructure could significantly impact global oil markets.

Trump warned that Iran must not interfere with the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important shipping routes for oil and gas.

He cautioned that if Iran attempts to block or disrupt maritime traffic in the waterway, the United States could also target Iranian oil installations in future operations.

The US president said that during his first term, and again now, he has worked to strengthen the American military and make it one of the most powerful and effective forces in the world.

Trump also claimed that Iran does not have the capability to defend against any target the United States chooses to strike.

He reiterated that Iran would never be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons or threaten the United States, the Middle East, or global security.

Trump further announced that the US Navy would soon begin providing security to ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
