(Web Desk): Medvedev warns that continued pressure on Iran could spark global war amid rising geopolitical tensions.

Russia’s Security Council Deputy Chairman and former President Dmitry Medvedev has warned that escalating pressure on Iran could potentially trigger a wider global conflict.

According to his recent remarks, Medvedev stated that if Donald Trump continues attempts to push for regime change in Iran, the situation could spiral into a third world war. He said Iran has the capability to resist US and Israeli attacks and that such external actions have only strengthened unity within the Iranian nation.

Medvedev argued that increased external pressure could push Iran to further strengthen its defence and nuclear capabilities, which would intensify tensions across the region. He described actions against Iran as part of broader efforts to maintain global dominance, warning that the consequences could be extremely dangerous if the conflict expands beyond control.

He also criticised European leadership for what he called an overly cautious approach to the growing crisis. The Russian official emphasised that the United States is fully aware of the catastrophic cost of any direct nuclear confrontation with Russia, adding that a nuclear war would produce consequences far more severe than past devastating conflicts.

The comments come amid rising geopolitical tensions and reports of military exchanges and diplomatic instability in the Middle East, including concerns over attacks on US facilities.

Experts say such statements from senior Russian officials signal deep international concern about potential escalation and broader security implications.
