According to US media reports, the Trump administration is now considering restoring the student visa registrations of thousands of foreign students whose legal status was suddenly revoked without any prior notice.
This major development came to light during a court hearing in Boston, where international students had filed cases against the government s harsh actions. If finalized, this decision could bring great relief to thousands of affected students.
The American Immigration Lawyers Association revealed that since Trump took office on January 20, records of over 4,700 students were deleted from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) database. This system, known as SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System), is used to track the legal status of students.
Many students impacted by this move lost access to their classes and campus facilities overnight, putting their education and future in serious danger.
Now, with this new positive development, there’s a fresh ray of hope for those waiting to restore their legal and academic status in the US.
