NAIROBI (Web Desk): A light aircraft carrying foreign tourists from Hungary and Germany crashed in Kenya, killing all 11 people on board in a devastating accident.

According to Mombasa Air Safari, the private airline operating the flight, the plane was carrying 10 passengers — eight from Hungary and two from Germany — along with a Kenyan pilot.

Rescue teams reached the crash site soon after the incident, but officials confirmed there were no survivors. The cause of the crash has not yet been determined, and authorities have launched an investigation to uncover what went wrong.

The tourists were reportedly traveling to one of Kenya’s popular safari destinations when the tragedy struck, leaving both local and foreign communities in shock.

The crash has deeply saddened Kenya’s tourism sector, which attracts thousands of visitors each year. The loss of foreign tourists highlights growing concerns about aviation safety in smaller aircraft services. Investigators are expected to focus on weather conditions and mechanical issues to find the real cause. It’s a heartbreaking reminder of how adventure trips can suddenly turn into tragedy.

"Sadly, there are no survivors," Mombasa Air Safari said in a statement.

The Civil Aviation Authority said the accident happened at Kwale, near the Indian Ocean coast, at about 0830 local time (0530 GMT).

A regional police commander, in comments aired by public broadcaster Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, said all the passengers were tourists.

Citizen TV station said the bodies of those on board had been burned beyond recognition.

The aviation authority said the aircraft was travelling from Diani, on the coast, to Kichwa Tembo in Kenya's Maasai Mara national reserve.
