Telecom sector in Pakistan has gone a notch higher by next generation connectivity when Zong experimented with 5G in Islamabad with speeds of over 1400 Mbps.
The experiment shows that the company is technically prepared before a countrywide 5G rollout.
The 5G test in Islamabad, according to the company was run in various urban settings to test how it would perform in the real world.
The outcomes indicated that the highest download speed was above 1.4 Gbps indicating that the network is highly optimized and the spectrum is utilized well.
Zong has been on the leading edge of the 5G development in Pakistan. In 2019, the company became the first company to carry out the country 5G trial, and in 2019, it made the first international 5G video call, showing that it continues to invest in high-level telecom infrastructure.

According to the officials, the recent Zong 5G Islamabad trial is among the larger plans that include enhancing customer experience, growing digital services, and applying AI-powered systems to regulate network performance.
The development comes as Pakistan prepares for commercial 5G services following recent spectrum auctions.
