Islamabad (Web Desk): WhatsApp has rolled out WhatsApp parent-managed accounts for pre-teens, giving guardians greater control over messaging and calls.

The new system aims to enhance WhatsApp safety while letting children stay connected.

Parents need both their device and their child’s phone to set up WhatsApp parent-managed accounts. Once linked, they can control who contacts their child, which groups the account joins, and review messages from unknown users.

The feature comes with strong parental controls, secured by a parent PIN. Only guardians can access or change settings, ensuring that children’s WhatsApp parent-managed accounts remain safe at all times.

WhatsApp confirmed that all chats remain private with end-to-end encryption, and pre-teens’ use is limited to messaging and voice calls.

Families can safely manage communication without compromising privacy using WhatsApp parent-managed accounts.
