(Web Desk): Pinterest has reported more searches than ChatGPT despite an earnings miss, highlighting search growth, AI tools and ad revenue challenges.

Pinterest has claimed that its platform is now seeing more searches than ChatGPT, even as the company reported earnings miss in its latest quarterly results.

According to the company, Pinterest is handling nearly 80 billion searches per month, slightly higher than the estimated 75 billion searches on ChatGPT.

CEO Bill Ready said the numbers show that Pinterest is not just a social media app but a powerful search and discovery platform.

He added that many searches on Pinterest come with strong commercial intent, making it attractive for advertisers and brands.

Pinterest’s challenge has been translating heavy usage into consistent advertising revenue, especially with larger advertisers pulling back and new tariff headwinds affecting retail categories.

Still, the platform saw 12 % year-over-year growth in monthly active users, reaching 619 million, indicating strong user engagement.

However, the company’s fourth-quarter earnings fell short of market expectations. Pinterest reported revenue of around $1.32 billion, missing analyst forecasts.
