(Web Desk): Samsung Display’s president Lee Cheungho has reportedly confirmed that his company is starting mass production of foldable OLED panels for a North American client.

Although he did not name the client, most reports suggest that the order is from Apple. This strongly hints that Apple’s first foldable iPhone is now in the final stages of development.

Samsung Display already supplies OLED panels for iPhones, making it the most reliable choice for Apple’s foldable device as well.

According to industry insiders, the foldable iPhone may feature a 5.5-inch cover display and a 7.8-inch folding internal screen. Another big change could be the replacement of Face ID with a side-mounted Touch ID sensor, similar to Android foldable phones.

Reports also claim that Apple could launch this foldable iPhone in September 2026 alongside the iPhone 18 series. However, the timeline may still change depending on production challenges.

Early leaks suggest a premium price tag — possibly above $2000 — placing it among the most expensive foldable phones in the market.

It must be noted that Apple itself has not officially confirmed this news. But Samsung Display’s hints are making Apple’s foldable future look more certain than ever.

This news shows Apple is closer than ever to entering the foldable market. Samsung’s confirmation makes the rumors believable. But with a price tag above $2000, it may not be for everyone. Apple might be testing waters before making foldables mainstream.
