Titled "AI-Generated Images for Status", this new feature leverages Meta s cutting-edge AI technology to create images from text inputs. All a user needs to do is just type in a few words like "sunset on the beach" or "glowing night sky", and WhatsApp will generate a few AI-generated images that match that description by itself.

To access the feature, one has to go to the status section, select the AI-generated image option, and input their preferred sentence. The app will then create several variations of the image, and users can pick their preferred one. They can also customize the image further by inserting emojis, stickers, or captions before they post.

The new feature is an extension of WhatsApp s AI wallpaper creation feature, which previously allows users to create personalized chat backgrounds.

The AI Image Generator is currently only accessible to a select group of Android and iPhone users, with Meta affirming that the global launch will occur incrementally over the next few weeks.
