Melbourne (Web Desk): Ferrari has unveiled their 2026 Formula One car as Lewis Hamilton prepares for what he calls a massive challenge under new rules.

The Italian team rolled out the SF-26 at their private Fiorano test track near Maranello. Hamilton and team-mate Charles Leclerc completed the first laps to assess the car’s early performance.

Hamilton said the 2026 season brings the biggest technical regulation change he has seen in his career. He explained that such changes reset the grid, giving every team a fresh start.

He added that success will depend on who develops fastest, brings the smartest ideas, and works together as a united team through the season.

Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur described the launch as an emotional moment. He said the car’s first run marked the beginning of a new journey rather than a final result.

Vasseur stressed that expectations should remain low for now. He said performance will only become clear at the season-opening race in Melbourne, adding that development will move much faster than in previous years.

Ferrari is coming off a difficult season, finishing fourth in the constructors’ championship. Hamilton also endured a rare low point, failing to reach the podium even once.

The last time major rule changes were introduced in 2022, Hamilton admitted the cars did not suit his driving style. He is hoping the 2026 version fits him better as he enters the later stage of his career.

Hamilton joined Ferrari after leaving Mercedes with the dream of winning a record eighth world title. After a tough debut year, even a race win would now feel like a major relief.

There has also been a key change behind the scenes. Hamilton’s race engineer, Riccardo Adami, has moved to another role within the team after a sometimes tense working relationship.

Charles Leclerc thanked Ferrari fans for standing by the team during difficult times. He said the passion of the Tifosi continues to motivate the drivers and makes Ferrari unique.

Ferrari will next test the car in Barcelona behind closed doors. Official pre-season testing will follow in Bahrain before the new season begins in Australia on March 8.
