(Web Desk): A high-level security meeting in Peshawar reviewed the overall security situation and took major decisions, including confirmation of PSL matches in the city.

The important meeting was held at the Corps Headquarters Peshawar. It was attended by the Federal Interior Minister, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, National Security Adviser, Corps Commander Peshawar, and other senior civil and military officials.

The participants paid tribute to civilians and security personnel who lost their lives in terrorist attacks. They praised their sacrifices and called them vital for the country’s safety.

One of the most important decisions was that Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches scheduled this year will be held in Peshawar as planned. Officials said strong security arrangements will be ensured to protect players, officials, and fans. This decision is being seen as a sign of confidence in improving security conditions.

The meeting also approved a new governance and security model in Malakand Division. Under this model, provincial police and civil institutions will immediately take full control of law and order. Authorities said this successful model will later be introduced step by step in the most affected districts, especially Khyber, Orakzai, and Kurram.

A special sub-committee has also been formed under the leadership of the Chief Minister. This committee includes elected representatives, Corps Commander Peshawar, Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, and representatives of federal agencies. The committee will monitor development projects and review security operations to ensure peace and progress.

Officials said the committee will focus on creating job opportunities to provide stable income for local people. It will also address the problems of temporarily displaced persons and ensure they receive proper support. Authorities believe economic stability is key to stopping extremism.

The meeting emphasized strong coordination between the federal government and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to fight terrorism. Leaders agreed to maintain a unified strategy and improve communication between institutions.

Strict action will continue against illegal SIM cards, explosive materials, extortion, and other criminal activities. Authorities also decided to focus on the gradual profiling of non-custom-paid vehicles to prevent misuse.

These decisions show that authorities are trying to restore full stability in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Holding PSL matches in Peshawar sends a strong message that security is improving. The formation of a special committee means leaders want direct monitoring of development and security. If jobs and development reach local people, it may reduce extremism and bring long-term peace.
