He said the decision was taken due to the regional situation and in the greater national interest.
The apology came during a special ceremony held in Lahore to honor all teams participating in PSL 11.
At the event, the PCB welcomed both local and international players, along with distinguished guests. The PSL 11 trophy was also unveiled, and the official anthem of the tournament was launched.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mohsin Naqvi said he understood the disappointment of fans. However, he stressed that the country’s national interest must always come first.
He explained that due to the current regional situation, some limitations had to be placed on PSL 11.
He added that while the changes may seem difficult now, they are aimed at ensuring better conditions in the future.
“Today’s sacrifice will bring ease tomorrow,” he said. Naqvi also highlighted that the Pakistan Super League has grown into a major international cricket brand.

He assured fans that efforts will continue to make PSL even stronger and more successful globally. Several key political and sports figures attended the ceremony.
These included federal ministers Muhammad Aurangzeb, Attaullah Tarar, Salik Hussain, and Ali Pervaiz Malik. Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan and Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb were also present.
Other attendees included Provincial Minister Shafi Hussain, Talha Burki, Attorney General Mansoor Awan, and former federal minister Gohar Ejaz.
Franchise owners, members of the Pakistan team management, national squad players, and international cricketers participating in PSL 11 also attended the event. The schedule change has raised questions among fans, but PCB officials insist the move was necessary under the current circumstances.
