(Web Desk): Market closing time in Lahore has been set at 10pm as the government restored old schedule after Ramazan relief.

The Punjab government has revised business hours across the province, including Lahore. Under the new decision, all markets, shopping malls, and shops will close at 10pm.

According to reports, the restriction on business timings has been reimposed and will take effect from March 24. This move comes after the special relief given during Ramazan has ended, and the previous schedule has now been restored.

During Ramazan, the business community had requested Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to allow 24-hour business activities. In response, she had granted an exemption from the usual 10pm closing time, allowing shops to remain open for longer hours.

A formal notification was also issued at that time, directing commissioners and deputy commissioners across Punjab to ensure that business activities could continue 24 hours during Ramazan.

Now, with Ramazan over, authorities have decided to return to normal timings. Officials have instructed all relevant departments to strictly enforce the 10pm closing rule across the province.

On the other hand, the federal government has also announced new office timings after Ramazan. These new timings will be implemented immediately after Eid holidays.

According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division, offices working five days a week will operate from 8am to 4pm. There will be a break for lunch and نماز from 1pm to 1:30pm.

Offices working six days a week will operate from 8am to 3pm, with the same break timing from 1pm to 1:30pm.

The statement added that all federal ministries and departments must strictly follow these new office timings after Eid.

This decision shows a return to normal routine. Government wants better control on business hours. Traders may not be happy after Ramazan relief. Strict implementation may affect late night shopping.
