LONDON (Web Desk): Manchester Police have announced their decision in the rape case filed against Pakistani cricketer Haider Ali in the United Kingdom during a cricket series.

After concluding that there was insufficient evidence to support the allegations, the police dropped the rape case against Haider Ali.

Police sources confirmed that investigators even took additional time to examine the case, but no charges could be proven. As a result, the case has been dismissed and Haider Ali has been cleared of all accusations.

Haider Ali was represented legally by Barrister Moin Khan. Following the dismissal, his passport will be returned within hours, allowing him to travel freely in and out of the UK.

According to sources, the complainant was a British-Pakistani woman who first connected with Haider Ali in 2023 through social media. When the Pakistan cricket team arrived in the UK, she maintained contact with him for two weeks.

The woman reportedly met Haider Ali for the first time on July 23 at a Manchester hotel and later had lunch with him. Their second meeting took place on August 1 in Ashford, Kent. Just days later, on August 4, she filed a rape complaint.

Haider Ali was arrested two weeks after the allegation, taken into custody from the Spitfire County Ground players’ canteen office in Kent. Officers did not handcuff him and transferred him to Canterbury Police Station for questioning.

From the very beginning, Haider Ali strongly denied the allegations, calling them fabricated and baseless. His stance has now been validated by the police decision to dismiss the case.

The dismissal of charges against Haider Ali ends weeks of uncertainty for the young cricketer and restores his freedom to play and travel internationally. The case highlights the sensitive nature of high-profile allegations and the importance of thorough police investigations.

The timeline — from social media contact to meetings in Manchester and Kent, followed by accusations — generated intense media attention. However, the absence of solid evidence ultimately led to the case being dropped.

For Haider Ali, this outcome not only clears his name but also allows him to focus again on his cricketing career. Yet, the incident underscores how quickly reputations can come under threat in the digital age, where personal connections and public scrutiny collide.
