After the Pakistan-India group match, Yadav tried to drag politics into cricket by commenting on the Pahalgam incident during the post-match presentation. The PCB immediately raised the issue with the ICC, terming it a clear violation of the code of conduct.
Sources said the Indian skipper was summoned to the ICC headquarters, where he was strictly warned and barred from making political remarks on the field in the future.
On the other hand, the ICC has also summoned Pakistani players Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan following a complaint filed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The Indian board alleged that both players made political gestures during the second group match.
It should be noted that Pakistan has maintained a professional and disciplined approach, while India’s captain attempted to exploit sensitive issues for political gain. PCB’s timely action forced ICC to intervene and silence India’s political aggression in cricket.
