Pakistan is committed to host Champions Trophy, asserts Mohsin Naqvi

LAHORE (Suno News): The Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi asserted that Pakistan would host Champions Trophy 2025.

While speaking to reporters in Lahore, PCB Chief Naqvi stated that Pakistan was willing to address the India’s reservations through dialogue. He dismissed the notion of shifting to hybrid model after India’s refusal to visit Pakistan.

PCB chief Naqvi visited Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and reviewed the ongoing development work. He stated that the upgradation process of Gaddafi Stadium is carrying out swiftly and it would be completed within the stipulated timeframe.

Regarding hosting the tournament, Naqvi reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to host tournament. “We are in contact with International Cricket Council (ICC) and waiting for ICC’s response,” he stated, adding that sports should be separated from politics.

Mohsin Naqvi further said that if India has any reservations, we can address them through negotiations. He called for rescheduling of trophy’s tour in Pakistan.

"Aqib Javed has been appointed as a temporary white-ball coach for three months," Naqvi clarified, adding that the process of hiring a permanent coach will begin soon.

Naqvi stated that Wahab Riaz was performing his duties actively and emphasised that no one had been removed from their current roles.
