
Shan Masood will continue as captain, with three uncapped players – Asif Afridi, Faisal Akram, and Rohail Nazir – included in the lineup.
South Africa, the reigning champions of the ICC World Test Championship 2023–25, will face Pakistan in the first Test at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium from 12–16 October. The second Test is scheduled for 20–24 October at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Following the Test series, the two sides will play three T20 internationals and three ODIs between 28 October and 8 November. Pakistan’s white-ball squad will be announced later.
Ahead of the series, players will participate in a training camp under red-ball head coach Azhar Mahmood and National Cricket Academy coaches until 8 October. Cricketers who took part in the recently concluded ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup will join the camp on 4 October.
