LAHORE (Web Desk): After facing backlash, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to display Pakistan’s name on jersey.

BCCI confirmed that the board would follow the guidelines set by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for upcoming tournament.

Rubbishing the claims regarding India’s refusal to include Pakistan’s name on jerseys, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia told the press that India would display Pakistan’s names on its kits by acting upon the ICC’s rules.

"BCCI will follow every uniform-related ICC rule during the Champions Trophy," Saikia said.

"Whatever the other teams will do regarding the logo and dress code, we are going to follow in true letter and spirit," he stated.

According to the ICC regulations, the inclusion of the official tournament logo and the name of host country for the Champions Trophy 2025 is necessary.

Saikia added that no decision had yet been made about Rohit Sharma’s visit to Pakistan in the opening ceremony in Pakistan.

Under the Hybrid Model, India s matches will be played at neutral venue in Dubai.

Earlier, ICC clarified that all teams are obligated to pursue the tournament regulations. "It is the responsibility of every team to display the tournament logo on their kits. All teams must adhere to this rule," an ICC official reportedly said.
