India dominates Group A with victory against Pakistan in ICC Champions Trophy 2025
LAHORE: (Web Desk) In the much-anticipated ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Group A contest, India defeated Pakistan, securing a six-wicket win over the traditional rival, Pakistan.

Pakistan opted to bat first against India after winning the toss in Dubai. Pakistan set a modest target of 242 runs. India reached the target in 43rd over.

Pakistan’s star batsman Babar Azam contributed only 23 runs before being dismissed by Pandya.

Saud Shakeel scored 62 and Mohammad Rizwan made 46 runs. Kuldeep Yadav took 3 wickets for 40 runs, helping India to restrict Pakistan to 241.

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill started brilliantly for India, adding 31 runs in the first five overs. Shaheen Shah Afridi removed Rohit for 20.

Kohli anchored the chase, making a 96-run partnership with Gill and later a 114-run stand with Shreyas Iyer, who scored 56 runs.

After winning the match, India secured top spot in Group A with four points from two matches, whereas Pakistan is remained at the bottom without any points.

In the Group A, New Zealand is at second position with two points. Bangladesh hold third spot.
