The World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2024 final at Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham, saw Pakistan Champions set a 157-run target for India on Saturday.

The Indian innings began with a bang as openers Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu came out all guns blazing. Despite a setback when Pakistan claimed quick wickets, dismissing Uthappa (10) and Suresh Raina (4), India bounced back with a vital 60-run partnership between Rayudu and Gurkeerat Singh. Rayudu scored a brisk 50 off 30 balls, featuring five fours and two sixes, while Gurkeerat added 34 from 33 deliveries.

Yusuf Pathan played a crucial role, scoring a rapid 30 off just 16 balls, bringing India closer to the target. Skipper Yuvraj Singh anchored the innings with an unbeaten 15 from 22 balls, while Irfan Pathan sealed the win with a decisive shot off Sohail Tanvir.

Pakistan s Aamer Yamin was their standout bowler, finishing with figures of 2/29.

Earlier, Pakistan, opting to bat first after winning the toss, posted a competitive total of 156/6. Their innings saw early trouble when Sharjeel Khan (9) was dismissed in the second over. Sohaib Maqsood (21) tried to steady the ship but was bowled by Vinay Kumar, putting pressure on Pakistan. Kamran Akmal (9) and Younis Khan (7) struggled to capitalize on their starts.

Shoaib Malik remained solid, scoring 41 off 36 balls, but couldn t accelerate due to the slow pitch. Misbah-ul-Haq contributed 18 off 15 balls before retiring out, while Sohail Tanvir s quick 19* helped push the total past 150. India s Anureet Singh was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three wickets.
