LAHORE (Web Desk): England cricketer James Vince has voiced his concerns regarding the England and Wales Cricket Board’s (ECB) no-objection certificate (NOC) policy.

The policy restricts the participation of England’s players in global leagues, except for the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Recently, Vince resigned as Hampshire captain to play in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, highlighted the potential negative effects of this policy on players.

Revealing details, Vince said, in an interview, a WhatsApp group was formed for players to discuss the potential impacts of before introducing this policy.

"The initial feeling was that it was going to drive people away from red-ball cricket. It felt like it was going to limit opportunities. Players were frustrated by it," he averred.

Vince expressed that the due to relations among ECB, PCB and BCCI led the ECB to make this decision of restricting players from participating in leagues other than India’s IPL.

"It is got to be something to do with relationships between the ECB, PCB and BCCI as to why they’ve come up with that rule," he added.

Vince’s remarks fuel the ongoing debate around the ECB’s policy of NOC and its implications for England players seeking to participate in international leagues.
