CARIBBEAN: (Web Desk) An unexpected incident came to light during the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 when security guards asked cricket fans in the audience to remove their t-shirts with legendary cricketer Imran Khan’s picture printed on them.

The fans, who had come to watch the match, were shocked when the security personnel asked them to take off their shirts, leading to a heated argument between them.

“Where in the ICC rules or on their website does it say that one can't wear this shirt?" asked one fan angrily.

"It's a picture of a cricketer. Why isn't a picture of a cricketer allowed in a cricket stadium in the Caribbean?" he further questioned.

The frustration among the fans was palpable, as they struggled to understand the logic behind the order.

In response, a security official said: "I am following orders from above and doing my job."

However, his explanation proved insufficient to appease angry fans, who continued to vent their anger.

However, while the specific reasons for this directive may not be clear, it has certainly added an unexpected dramatic element to an exciting T20 World Cup.

Earlier, in Pakistan, many fans were prevented from wearing t-shirts with pictures of Imran Khan printed on them, and the move was considered politically motivated.
