KARACHI (Suno News): In a historic milestone for Pakistani sports, the country has been awarded the hosting rights for both the World Masters and Asian Masters Weightlifting Championships.

According to the Asian Masters Weightlifting Association, Pakistan will host both men’s and women’s events. The World Masters event has been titled the “Grand Prix,” a distinction regarded as a major honor in the global weightlifting community.

This international weightlifting spectacle is scheduled to take place in February next year in the federal capital, Islamabad. Over 500 weightlifters from seven countries, including renowned Olympic and world-level athletes, are expected to attend this event.

He said that hosting both mega events is a great honor and reflects the success Pakistan has achieved in Masters competitions. “Today, the world is entrusting us with the responsibility of hosting this prestigious event,” he added.

He further stated that Pakistan had won 10 medals at the Asian Masters Championship held in Qatar. He also noted that the global recognition of Operation “Bunyān al-Marsūs” and the unshakable defense provided by the Pakistan Armed Forces have boosted international confidence in the country.

This event will also contribute to Pakistan’s economic growth, tourism, and sports development, emphasized Arshad. He stressed the importance of offering the world a positive and vibrant image of the nation.
