The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast more rain with strong winds and thunderstorms in various parts of the country, bringing a further drop in temperatures and worsening cold conditions in upper and northern regions.
Islamabad Weather Update
According to PMD, Islamabad is likely to experience intermittent rain accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms. The federal capital has already been receiving rainfall since night, making the weather pleasant but colder.
Rain and Snowfall in Northern Areas
Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding areas are expected to receive rain and snowfall, while Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Shangla, and Kohistan are also likely to experience rain mixed with snowfall.
In Nathiagali, Thandiani, and other upper regions, snowfall has already been reported, accompanied by cold winds, further intensifying winter conditions.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Forecast
Cities including Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Charsadda, Buner, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, and Haripur are expected to receive rain. In Abbottabad and Haripur, heavy rain with strong winds has already led to a sharp increase in cold, while low-lying areas in Kandian and nearby localities were temporarily submerged due to intermittent rainfall.
Balochistan Weather Conditions
Most districts of Balochistan are expected to remain cold and dry. However, Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, and Musa Khel may receive rain and snowfall, further lowering temperatures in these areas.
Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan
The PMD has also predicted rain with thunderstorms and strong winds in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, with snowfall likely in higher elevations.
Outlook for Next 24 Hours
The Meteorological Department stated that the current spell of rain and snowfall may continue for the next 24 hours, increasing the intensity of cold weather across northern Pakistan.
