The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast snowfall in mountainous areas of Balochistan and warned of rain and hailstorms in Islamabad.
According to officials, the weather system is expected to affect several regions, bringing cold and cloudy conditions to most districts of Balochistan. Rain and snowfall over hills are likely in Quetta, Ziarat, Pishin, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, and Qila Saifullah, raising concerns about travel disruptions and freezing temperatures.
The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) Azad Kashmir has issued an emergency alert for February 9 and 10 due to the risk of heavy snowfall in upper areas and rainfall across the region. Authorities warned that slippery roads, landslides, and road closures could occur, particularly in Muzaffarabad, Neelum Valley, Jhelum Valley, Mirpur, Kotli, Bhimber, Rawalakot, Bagh, Haveli, and Poonch.
Meanwhile, rainfall is also expected in Zhob, Musa Khel, Mastung, Kalat, Turbat, Chaghi, Gwadar, and Kharan. Officials advised residents and travelers to remain cautious and follow safety guidelines during the changing weather conditions.

Temperature readings indicate extremely cold conditions in several cities. Quetta recorded a minimum temperature of zero degrees Celsius, while Kalat and Ziarat recorded minus one degree Celsius. Zhob reported 4°C, while Sibi recorded 12°C and Turbat 16°C. Nokkundi recorded 9°C and Chaman 6°C. In coastal areas, Gwadar recorded 13°C and Jiwani 15°C.
Authorities urged the public to stay updated on weather advisories and avoid unnecessary travel in affected mountainous areas.
