At least 17 people were killed and dozens injured as intense stormy rains battered Karachi, triggering multiple deadly incidents across the metropolitan city, according to rescue sources.

The severe weather, marked by strong winds and heavy rainfall, led to widespread destruction, with most casualties caused by collapsing walls, falling trees, and lightning strikes.

One of the deadliest incidents occurred in Baldia Town near the Telephone Exchange in Sector 11, where a wall collapse claimed seven lives and left six others injured. Rescue teams and police responded swiftly, shifting victims to nearby hospitals.

In another tragic event in Quaidabad, a husband and wife lost their lives after the wall of their home collapsed, as confirmed by the Senior Superintendent of Police Malir.

Rain-related fatalities were reported from several other localities. In Yar Muhammad Goth, Landhi, one person died after being struck by lightning, while in Korangi No. 5, a man was killed when a tree fell on him, injuring four others.
