A prolonged spell of cold and dry weather in Pakistan is expected to continue across most regions, according to the latest forecast issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The PMD said the prevailing winter pattern will keep temperatures low in northern and central areas, while most plains will remain dry. Partly cloudy skies are expected over hilly regions, with very cold conditions during early morning and nighttime hours.
In Islamabad and surrounding areas, cold and dry weather will persist, with morning temperatures likely to fall to around 6°C before climbing to nearly 26°C in the afternoon.
Across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, most districts will remain cold and dry, while upper regions are expected to experience extremely cold mornings and nights.

Punjab will also see dry conditions, with colder nights and early mornings. Cities such as Lahore and Faisalabad may enjoy pleasant daytime temperatures, followed by a noticeable drop after sunset. Gusty winds are also likely in central and southern Punjab during daylight hours.
The hill resort of Murree and surrounding Galiyat areas will stay cold and dry throughout the day, with chilly winds adding to the winter feel.
In Sindh, including Karachi, mainly dry weather will prevail. Daytime temperatures in Karachi may rise between 29°C and 31°C, while early morning light fog is possible. The minimum temperature in the city has recently been recorded around 15°C, with northeast winds blowing at about 4 km/h and humidity near 72%.
Balochistan will experience dry and partly cloudy conditions in most districts, while northern areas, including Quetta, will remain cold, particularly during mornings and nights.
Meanwhile, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir will continue to face severe winter conditions. Cities such as Gilgit and Skardu are expected to record freezing morning temperatures near 1°C and 0°C, with cold and dry to partly cloudy weather throughout the day.
The PMD has advised citizens to take necessary precautions during early morning and nighttime hours, especially in colder regions.
