According to the advisory, rain and snowfall are expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kohistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and parts of Balochistan as a new weather system moves across the country.
The NDMA said western winds will affect northern and western regions from December 13 to 15, likely increasing fog intensity and reducing visibility, particularly during night and early morning hours.
Snowfall in mountainous areas may disrupt traffic, with the risk of road closures on high-altitude routes. Travellers heading toward northern regions have been advised to remain cautious and check road conditions before travel.
Light rain and snowfall are expected in Quetta, Ziarat and other parts of northwestern Balochistan. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, districts including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan and Buner are likely to receive rain and snow.

Cold conditions have already intensified in northern Pakistan. Islamabad is experiencing chilly weather, while severe cold has been reported in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Temperatures in high-altitude areas have dropped below freezing.
Skardu recorded a temperature of minus six degrees Celsius, while Gupis saw minus four, Bagrot minus three, and Gilgit and Astor minus two degrees. NDMA said areas such as Skardu, Astor, Deosai, Kaghan Valley, Naran and Babusar Top may receive above-average snowfall during this period.
In the plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh, dense fog is expected to persist over the coming days, affecting visibility and travel conditions. Northern districts of Balochistan are likely to experience severe cold during morning and nighttime hours.
Authorities have urged residents in affected areas to take precautionary measures against extreme cold, while travellers have been advised to avoid unnecessary journeys in mountainous regions during snowfall.
