According to the Met Office, Karachi may record minimum temperatures between 13°C and 15°C over the next 24 hours, as continental air continues to dominate much of the country. The PMD expects cold and dry conditions nationwide, with severe cold likely in northern and high-altitude regions.
Fog is also expected to intensify across the plains of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, potentially affecting early morning and late-night travel.

Despite the approaching cold spell, Karachi is currently witnessing stable autumn conditions. The PMD reported improved visibility and clearer skies on Tuesday, with daytime temperatures around 30°C and light northeasterly winds providing better ventilation. Hazy sunshine is expected to ease further as the week progresses.
Meanwhile, air quality in the city remains a concern. Multiple monitoring stations recorded “very unhealthy” PM2.5 levels on Monday, with some of the highest readings reported from DHA Phase 5 (196), NED University City Campus (180), and Saddar’s DG House station (171), underscoring persistent pollution across central and southern Karachi.
