The National Disaster Management Authority has issued a high alert warning of a powerful new spell of stormy weather expected to impact several parts of Pakistan. Authorities have directed all relevant departments to remain on high alert to handle any emergency situation.
According to meteorological forecasts, a fresh wave of western winds is likely to bring intense rainfall, strong winds, and even unusual snowfall in April across upper regions. Officials say this weather system could significantly disrupt daily life and infrastructure.
Heavy rain with thunder and possible hailstorms are expected in major cities including Islamabad, Murree, Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Sialkot. Strong winds accompanying the storms may also damage infrastructure and disrupt power supply in affected areas.
Meanwhile, heavy snowfall is forecast in mountainous regions of Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, and upper areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, leading to a noticeable drop in temperatures.

The NDMA has warned of increased risks of landslides due to continuous rain and snowfall in hilly areas. Travelers and tourists have been strongly advised to avoid unnecessary journeys during this period.
Officials say precautionary measures are being put in place, but citizens are urged to stay informed and follow safety guidelines as the severe weather system approaches.
