(Web Desk): NDMA warns of severe fog in Punjab, Sindh, and Islamabad over the next three days, urging drivers to follow safety guidelines and avoid unnecessary travel.

The NDMA has issued a severe fog alert for Punjab, Sindh, and Islamabad over the next three days, warning of significantly reduced visibility in major cities like Lahore, Multan, and Sukkur.

Areas Likely to Be Affected

According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), dense fog is expected in:

  • Punjab: Lahore, Jhang, Multan, Khanewal, Mian Channu, Sahiwal, Okara, Pakpattan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Lodhran, and Vehari
  • Sindh: Upper Sindh areas, especially Sukkur and surrounding regions
  • Islamabad: Night and early morning fog expected, reducing visibility

The NDMA has emphasized that this heavy fog may disrupt traffic flow and increase the risk of accidents in these regions.

  • Reduce speed and maintain safe distance from other vehicles
  • Use fog lights and low-beam headlights at all times
  • Avoid unnecessary travel, particularly during night and early morning
  • Follow official weather and traffic advisories for updated guidance

The NDMA is coordinating with relevant departments to monitor fog-affected areas and respond promptly to emergencies.

Public Advisory and Precautionary Measures

A spokesperson for the NDMA said, “Severe fog is expected in several regions of Punjab, Sindh, and Islamabad over the next three days. Residents should strictly follow safety precautions and stay updated on weather alerts.”

The authority called on the public to prioritize safety, remain vigilant on the roads, and report any accidents or hazards immediately. Citizens are advised to plan travel during daylight hours when visibility improves.
