After three consecutive days of rain and snowfall, the weather paused temporarily, offering brief relief, though intense cold continues in higher areas.
In upper valleys, accumulated snow and severe cold badly affected routine activities. Roads in remote regions remained slippery, slowing movement due to frozen surfaces and poor visibility.
Residents reported difficulties in reaching markets, schools, and health facilities as winter conditions tightened their hold.

The Lowari Tunnel was among the worst-hit locations, receiving more than three feet of snow after continuous snowfall. Despite the harsh conditions, authorities acted swiftly to clear the route and restore traffic.
Timely measures prevented prolonged closures, keeping the vital link between Chitral and the rest of the province open. Snowfall was recorded in several valleys, including Kalash Valley, Madaklasht, and Garam Chashma. Madaklasht received the heaviest snowfall at around 14 inches.
Yarkhun Valley recorded about 6 inches, while Bugosht and Gabor areas in Garam Chashma received between 6 and 8 inches. Other areas such as Mastuj, Laspur, Torkhow, Morkhow, and Terich also experienced snowfall, further worsening conditions across Upper Chitral.
Rain continued in Boni headquarters and nearby areas, increasing the risk of icy roads, especially during nighttime.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD)said weather conditions are likely to improve by tomorrow, with clear skies and sunshine expected.
