Rain, thundershower expected in parts of country

ISLAMABAD: (Suno News) Rain-wind/thundershower (with few heavyfalls) is expected in Kashmir, northeast Punjab, Pothohar region, Islamabad and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Rain-wind/thundershower is also likely at isolated places in south Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, central Punjab and northeast Balochistan.

 The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported that strong monsoon currents from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are likely to penetrate upper parts of the country from tonight. A westerly wave is also likely to approach upper parts of the country on 04th July.

For Wednesday, the PMD had forecasted that hot and humid weather was expected in most parts of the country. However, rain-wind/thundershower was expected in Kashmir, northeast Punjab, Islamabad, Pothohar region, northeast Balochistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In the past 24 hours, hot and very humid weather prevailed over most parts of the country. However, rain-wind/thundershower occurred at isolated places in northeast Punjab, Islamabad, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and lower Sindh.

Yesterday’s recorded highest maximum temperatures remained (°C): Nokkundi 48, Dalbandin 47, Turbat, Bhakkar, Attock and Noorpurthal 46.
