
Lahore and several other regions of Punjab are likely to experience rain accompanied by gusty winds and isolated hailstorms on Wednesday night, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
While a shallow westerly wave is currently affecting the upper parts of the country and is expected to linger until April 20, heatwave conditions are forecast to continue in South Punjab throughout the week.
Under this weather system, areas including Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal,Talagang, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Mianwali, Lahore, Kasur, and nearby regions may see rain, strong winds, and occasional heavy downpours or hail on Wednesday night. Central and southern districts may also experience gusty winds, though the heatwave will persist in those areas.
Looking ahead to Thursday, most of Punjab is expected to see hot and dry weather, with the exception of Murree and Galiyat, where rain and gusty winds remain in the forecast.
Lahore’s maximum temperatures are projected to range between 39°C and 41°C on Thursday and rise slightly to 40°C to 42°C on Friday.
Over the past 24 hours, hot and dry conditions prevailed across much of the province, with some rainfall reported in the Potohar region.
