ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): In welcome news for heat-stricken citizens across the country, the Meteorological Department has forecast a four-day spell of rainfall starting May 1.

According to the department, a weather system bringing cool winds and thunderstorms is expected to enter the upper and central regions of the country. The resulting pleasant weather is likely to bring a noticeable drop in temperatures.

The official reports indicate that westerly winds will begin entering the upper regions by the evening of April 30, setting the stage for rainfall from May 1 onward.

Rain, accompanied by thunder, windstorms, and in some areas hail, is expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sialkot, Jhelum, Mansehra, Kohat, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir.

On the other hand, experts have warned that this weather system could pose challenges for farmers, especially those harvesting crops currently at maturity.

The Meteorological Department has advised the public to take necessary precautions and avoid unnecessary travel during this period.

Meteorologists say that in addition to cooling down temperatures, the rain will offer some much-needed relief from the prolonged dry spell.

Citizens are urged to stay updated on weather developments and follow guidance issued by relevant authorities.
