ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): Monsoon currents are penetrating in most parts of the country and a shallow westerly wave is also affecting upper and central parts of the country, according to Met Office.

On Friday, rain-wind/thundershower is expected in Kashmir, Punjab, Islamabad, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast/south Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan. Heavyfalls are also likely at isolated places in northeast/southern Punjab and Northern Balochistan during the period.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported that from today (night) and 11th July:

Heavy to very heavy rains may generate flash floods in local nullahs/streams of Murree, Galliyat, Manshera, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Buner, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Hill torrents of D.G Khan, Northeast Punjab, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and parts of Balochistan(Barkhan, Kohlu, Musakhel, Dera Bugti, Naseerabad, Sibi, Loralai, Zhob, Kalat, Khuzdar, Lasbela, Awaran, Panjgur, Turbat).

Landslides/mudslides may cause roads closure in the vulnerable hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan during the wet spell.

Heavy Downpour may cause urban flood in low lying areas of Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Nowshera and Peshawar. General Public are advised to take precautionary measures during the weather activity.

On Thursday, rain-wind/thundershower is expected in Punjab, Kashmir, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northeast/south Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan. Heavyfalls are also likely at isolated places during the period.

In the past 24 hours, rain-wind/thundershower (with isolated heavyfalls) occurred in Punjab, Islamabad, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.
