A powerful earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale was felt across several parts of Pakistan, including Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The sudden tremors caused fear among residents as many rushed out of homes and offices for safety.
According to the Earthquake Monitoring Center, the earthquake occurred at a depth of about 190 km. The epicenter was located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan, an area known for frequent seismic activity.
In Punjab, the tremors were widely felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Murree along with nearby areas. Residents in Lahore, Sialkot, Gujrat, Faisalabad, Chiniot, Okara, Phalia, Tandlianwala and Jalal Pur Bhattian also reported noticeable shaking.
The earthquake was also experienced in cities such as Jhelum, Gojra, Mandi Bahauddin, Sahiwal and Pasrur. In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, tremors were felt in Bhimber, Neelum and nearby areas.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, residents in many cities reported strong shaking. These included Peshawar, Nowshera, Swat, Shangla, Lower Dir, Upper Dir, Kohat, Malakand, Mardan and Hangu.
People in Abbottabad, Mansehra, Upper Hazara, Buner, Bannu, Bajaur, Tank and Charsadda also confirmed that they felt the earthquake.
The tremors were not limited to these regions. In Gilgit Baltistan, residents in Gilgit, Skardu and Diamer reported the shaking. Similarly, in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the earthquake was felt in Muzaffarabad, Neelum Valley, Samahni and Hattian Bala, including areas such as Channari, Chikothi, Gujjar Bandi, and Lipa.
Despite the widespread tremors, there were no immediate reports of major damage or casualties at the time of the incident.
