The government has introduced a petrol subsidy program to reduce the financial burden on low-income citizens after a sharp rise in fuel prices across the country.
According to officials, the subsidy will only be available to people whose monthly income is less than Rs50,000 to Rs60,000. The program is mainly designed to help lower-income motorcycle users who rely on petrol for daily travel.
Authorities said that the motorcycle must be registered in the applicant’s name and must have a verified number plate. In addition, the applicant’s CNIC and mobile SIM must also be registered under the same name to qualify for the subsidy.

To make the process easier, the government has launched a digital registration system. Applicants can send their correct CNIC number along with their vehicle details to 9771 through their mobile phone.
After sending the information, applicants will receive a confirmation code if they meet the eligibility criteria. This code will be used to verify their registration in the subsidy program.
Officials have also warned the public to use only official government platforms for registration. Citizens have been advised not to share personal information on any unofficial apps or websites claiming to provide petrol subsidies.
