Selected women will have a lucky chance to receive electric scooters by Sindh Government on a celebration of International Women’s Day.
Senior Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon addressed the major problem of dependent transportation for women. He said that this initiative will ensure women access for more safer and reliable transportation.
According to minister, the selected women will not only get the scooter but they will also be trained in riding scooter and taking precautions for their road safety. After this training, they will have basic knowledge about scooter riding and their safely use.
Moreover, the minister said that this scheme will help the woman with independent mobility and safety. He further stated that this step is part of the provincial government’s broader efforts aimed at facilitating women by improving their mobility while also encouraging the use of environmentally sustainable transportation options.

The initiative is expected to significantly improve daily commuting options for women, especially students and working professionals who often face difficulties in accessing reliable transportation. By introducing electric scooters, the Sindh government aims to encourage eco-friendly travel while promoting women’s independence and confidence on the roads. Officials believe the program will not only reduce transportation barriers but also support women’s participation in education, employment, and social activities across the province.
