(Web Desk): Punjab launches free public transport and cash subsidies to ease public burden during global economic pressure.

The government of Punjab has launched a major relief package, announcing free public transport and financial support for citizens amid rising global economic challenges.

The initiative follows a national savings and austerity program introduced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz unveiled a wide-ranging plan aimed at reducing the financial burden on the public.

Under the package, all major public transport services in Punjab have been made free for one month. These include the Orange Line Train Lahore, Metro Bus Lahore, Speedo buses, and electric green buses. Citizens will not need to purchase tickets during this period.

In addition, the provincial government has announced direct financial relief for farmers. A subsidy of Rs100 per litre per acre will be provided on diesel to support agricultural activities. Motorcycle owners will also receive relief, with a subsidy of Rs100 on 20 litres of fuel for every registered bike.

Maryam Nawaz praised the federal government for maintaining petroleum prices and supply stability despite global uncertainty. She stated that billions of rupees in relief have been provided to protect citizens from economic hardship.
