The government has once again increased the kerosene oil price in Pakistan, setting the new rate at Rs433.40 per litre, according to an official notification issued on Friday.
The latest revision shows a Rs4.66 per litre increase, pushing the previous price of Rs428.74 higher. The new fuel prices have been implemented with immediate effect, adding to the financial burden on consumers already struggling with rising inflation.
Continued Surge in Kerosene Prices
This is not the first increase in recent weeks. Just last week, kerosene oil witnessed a massive hike of Rs70.73 per litre, triggering widespread concern among the public. The repeated increases have raised serious questions about fuel affordability, especially for vulnerable segments of society.

Petrol and Diesel Prices Remain Unchanged
While the government recently decided to keep petrol and diesel prices unchanged, the consistent rise in kerosene rates has sparked public anxiety and criticism. Many citizens are questioning why relief has not been extended to kerosene users as well.
Impact on Rural and Low-Income Households
Experts warn that the continuous increase in kerosene oil prices will disproportionately affect rural populations and low-income households, where kerosene remains a key source of fuel for cooking, heating, and lighting.
With limited alternatives available in remote areas, the rising cost is expected to deepen economic hardship and increase dependency on costly energy sources.
